Loaner Boats

Any Full members may use a loaner paddling boat.

Certified (see Certification below) Full members may use loaner sailboats.

• You or your parent/guardian must sign the Loaner Boat Agreement. For any boat with an attached motor, you must have a valid NJ Boating Safety Certificate. This certificate must be on you when operating a boat with motor and may be subject to inspection by authorities.
•  For sailboats, you must have passed the RDCC Loaner Sailboat Certification for the class of boat (dinghy and/or keelboat)
• A non-certified member may utilize a boat if learning to sail under the instruction of an adult member who holds a Strictly Sailing Teaching Certification
• A guest of a member in any of the above categories who is under the supervision of an adult member holding a Strictly Sailing Teaching Certification
• Guests may use a loaner boat no more than three (3) times before being required to join as an eligible member
• You must sign out the boat on the sheet hanging on the door of locker 8/9
• Please report ANY concerns or damage to the boat. This way we can keep them in good working order
• You must check over the boat to confirm that it is in good working order and safe to take out. 

To obtain the RDCC Loaner Sailboat Certification, please contact the Rear Commodore. The Rear Commodore will schedule a time that they or another qualified representative can meet you at the waterfront. They will go over some basic sailing knowledge and ask you to perform certain sailing and rescue tasks to certify that you are permitted to utilize the loaner sailing dinghies and keelboats.

Loaner paddlecraft and sailboats are marked with "RDCC" and an identification.

Example - Kayak #1 is marked "RDCC #K1"

Loaner boat storage locations are listed in the Information Packet.

Please treat these boats well as they are for everyone's use. If you notice an issue with a boat, please inform the Rear Commodore with this boat identification.
