Adaptive Sailing

As some of you may have heard a group of energetic individuals have re-instated the Red Dragon Adaptive Sailing Program

What is Adaptive Sailing you ask?

Well, it's the theory that everyone should have access to the sport of sailing regardless of physical or cognitive impairment

What will RDAS do?

In 2019 we want to learn how to run the program. We have 4 "sailors' within the autism spectrum that our experienced Captain's will take out onto the water.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY !

Red Dragon Adaptive Sailing program will need volunteers for the days we have the “sailors".

We have outlined the plan of execution for these days and would like to have 4-5 hours of the volunteer’s time. We know it's a lot to ask but its a great way to give back to our community and provide an experience to individuals who may not have had this opportunity

Each day we ask for 4 volunteers:

(1)Shore Support- in charge of paper work and logistics of checking in the “sailors”

(1)Captain and (1) First Mate- will sail the boat with our “sailors” on board

(1) Chase Boat- there as a precaution if any challenges arise on the water

Our kick off is scheduled for  Saturday June 15. Come out and see the RDAS in action. Lets make it a fun Red Dragon Event!

If you have any questions or would like us to add you to the volunteer list- please contact Lisa Rothman: Lisamarierothman@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you out there
